CBD For Energy: Top Tips For A Natural Energy Boost

Energy can be hard to come by, even on a stress-free day following a good night’s sleep. Now, heading into the darkest days of winter, finding energy can be even more challenging without ample sunlight. On the days when we need a little more help, caffeine tends to be the obvious choice — but what if we told you that you can use CBD for energy support?

CBD works within the Endocannabinoid System (ECS), responsible for maintaining homeostasis (or balance) throughout the body. Since the discovery of the ECS in the 1990s, researchers have determined that this system plays a role in mediating our energy storage and expenditure through various biological pathways. Energy maintenance is a balancing act, and balance is the name of the game with CBD. Not sure where to start? We’ve got you covered with some of our pro tips for using CBD for energy.

CBD for Energy: Tops Tips for A Natural Energy Boost

Get a better night’s sleep

Even if you sleep through the night, you aren’t necessarily getting high-quality sleep. The average human needs between 7-9 hours of sleep per night, including at least 3-5 REM cycles. While we can’t use CBD to treat any underlying condition, many of our members find that taking CBD at night can help them fall asleep faster, stay asleep longer, and experience more vivid dreams. All of which may be signs that point to hitting deeper REM sleep!

Our Daily Softgels (10mg Regular Strength or 25mg Extra Strength) can be an excellent option for those looking to enhance the quality of their sleep. They offer extended support for an average of 6-8 hours and are easily swallowed with a glass of water at dinner. If you’d prefer a sweet, low sugar treat, then our Daily Gummies (10mg each) or Nightly Sleep Gummies may be a good option for overnight support as well.

Additionally, studies show that spending at least 15 minutes outside each day can support a healthy Circadian rhythm. So, when using CBD for energy, consider further supporting your body with some time spent in the sun or under a sun lamp.

Lean into as-needed dosing

Once you have started a daily wellness routine, “episodic” doses can be a great way to give yourself additional support when you need it most. If you’re someone who has energy dips when out and about, then let me introduce you to the Rapid Calming Melts (5mg), our most discreet dosing option available. Not only are they easy to use, but they kick in quickly — about 5-10 minutes after they fully dissolve — making them great for when you’re on the go or in a pinch. Our Daily Drops can also be used episodically and are a great option if you’re looking for more flexible dosing options when using CBD for energy support.

Experiment with essential oils

Hemp is full of terpenes, which are the building blocks of essential oils. Each strain has a unique blend of terpenes responsible for the flavor and aromatic profile. These terpenes contribute to maximizing the efficacy of your CBD through a process called the Entourage Effect.

While every one of our products contains a plethora of terpenes, you can further indulge in the therapeutic effects of essential oils through topical application. In particular, the Energizing Roller from our Dynamic Roller Duo is a great way to experience both localized CBD support and aromatherapeutic benefits. With 75mg of our full-spectrum CBD, along with peppermint, sweet orange, geranium, litsea, and spearmint essential oils, this CBD rollerball is perfect for you to keep nearby and apply to the wrists and temples when you need a quick boost.*

Listen to your body

While many of our members have successfully used CBD for energy support, it’s important to keep in mind that taking too much CBD for your body during the day may result in fatigue. Feeling fatigued after taking too much CBD is due to the biphasic nature of CBD dosing, which means that too little, or too much, could be ineffective. Whenever someone changes their routine — particularly when increasing their dose — we always suggest taking things low and slow and first trying new doses when they have the time to monitor their response. Should you find that adding a dose makes you a bit tired, don’t fret! Just drink lots of water, and consider reducing that dose by half the next time you reach for it.
