Oftentimes, we have many health goals that can be connected or seem related. This can make it hard to determine which health goal to focus on or what areas you have seen improvement in during your wellness journey. For example, many of our members experience a decrease in their quality of sleep because of an increase in stress in their life.
It is in these moments that it can be hard to determine which health goal to focus on or to notice subtle changes as you are adjusting your routine. Many times we don’t notice the changes within our body because we get so accustomed to not being okay or just dealing with the stress to keep the day continuing. Self-assessments can be beneficial in determining what has been working in your daily routine and what adjustments you need to make in order to support your other health goals.
Questions to Help Self-Assess
Just like exercise, changes from your daily routine can be subtle and occur over time within your body. With a regular self-assessment, you can keep track of any changes and be able to better refocus your routine. Below are a few questions you can ask yourself as you’re checking in to determine if you’re noticing any changes:
Are you able to better recognize when you are getting stressed?
Are you feeling more rested/energized/focused during the day?
Are you finding it easier to balance your day between work and errands?
What areas are you finding still need improvement?
Are there any parts of your routine that are no longer serving your needs?
By regularly assessing your routine and health goals, you are able to provide a better overview of your health goals, how your routine has been supporting you, and what ways your routine can be improved to provide better results. Being consistent and keeping track through journaling is a great way to stay on top of your health goals as well as give you insight into the changes that are occurring within your body and lifestyle.
