You do some research and, after watching someone share their story that is similar to what you are going through, decide to place an order. Excitedly, you start a routine right away. You have heard so many people share their experience with CBD and how it has changed their life and just can’t wait to feel the relief for yourself.

You aren’t sure what to expect or if you are even taking the right amount and now you have so many other questions. What am I supposed to feel after taking CBD? When will my CBD start working? How can I tell if my CBD is working?

The effects of CBD can be described as delicate and gradual. One common topic that we often educate on and help our members to navigate, is to help understand what “CBD working” even looks or feels like!  While often a dose of CBD can promote feelings of calm, focus, or balance in the moment – but where the magic truly happens is when you start paying attention to “what you’re not feeling” as well. What does that even look like? Perhaps it’s about not feeling as worked up before you have a big work presentation. Or noticing the absence of your usual tense jaw clench with as the kids argue in the backseat after an already stressful, busy day.  How about realizing you didn’t wake up as many times as your usual restless nights? 

 

These subtle changes that shift as a result of your CBD routine over time, are often where the most impactful transformations happen! Being aware of these gentle, yet powerful benefits is where CBD success truly shines and you can fully appreciate how CBD is working for you!

  • Have you noticed any changes in how you’re feeling/reacting throughout the day?
  • Are you seeing any differences with relaxing before bed, sleeping longer overnight, waking up fewer times than usual throughout the night, or waking up feeling refreshed?
  • Are you experiencing less aches, stiffness, or soreness in your body?

 

If you’ve answered yes to these questions, it’s a good sign that you’re on a good track! To give you a better picture of how each person’s timeline is different, a few CBD experts from our Member Education Team are sharing their own journey with CBD and the moment they really noticed their CBD routine was truly working for them!.

Heather’s CBD Journey:

 

What was the primary indicator that helped you realize your CBD was working? 

It was a subtle change, when I realized my acne started to significantly decrease without any change in diet or skincare routine

 

When did you feel you reached your best results with your routine? (e.g. 3 months, 6 months, etc.) 

For my best results, it took around 6 months to really feel my best – sort of like working out for a few months and then turning a corner where I really saw some amazing progress and results!

 

Was the difference you observed due to a routine adjustment or timing of how long you have been on your routine?

I had a routine adjustment. I noticed an even lower mood and increase in appetite with my starting routine, but then learned that more CBD isn’t necessarily better! By decreasing down to a 1/4 dropper, I had an ” aha moment” of realizing I had been needing to decrease all along.! 

 

Noelle’s CBD Journey:

 

What was the primary indicator that helped you realize your CBD was working? 

Noticing I responded differently to a stressful situation than I would have OVERreacted to prior to  starting my CBD routine. I had more time to observe and process what was happening in the moment instead of that knee-jerk stress reaction.. 

 

 When did you feel you reached your best results with your routine? (e.g. 3 months, 6 months, etc.) 

I started to notice a difference around 2 months into my routine, but honestly, I felt my best results around 8 months into my routine with consistent use, and finding the right dose!. 

 

 Was the difference you observed due to a routine adjustment or timing of how long you have been on your routine?

Timing. I think my body was really out of balance so it took longer for me to respond to my routine over time, as well!. 

 

Bee’s CBD Journey: 

 

What was the primary indicator that helped you realize your CBD was working? 

I had several moments where I noticed my routine was working at different times. The first was my focus. I knew my focus needed some support when I wasn’t able to enjoy my hobbies. I noticed a change in my focus the fastest because it translated into my workplace and at home. 

 

 When did you feel you reached your best results with your routine? (e.g. 3 months, 6 months, etc.) 

I first noticed a difference in my focus at about the one month mark. For my sleep, it took about two months for me to start to be able to fall back asleep faster in the middle of the night. I noticed a physical change in my stress with my shoulders and neck at about the two month mark. Emotionally, it took about 3, almost 4 months for me to feel steady with my mood. 

 

 Was the difference you observed due to a routine adjustment or timing of how long you have been on your routine?

The difference was definitely to do adjustment in my routine first, and then once I found my ideal dose giving it some time. Starting your CBD journey takes a lot of experimentation. It takes time and self awareness, just like exercising or going to therapy. 

 

Kate’s CBD Journey:

 

What was the primary indicator that helped you realize your CBD was working? 

I started to notice myself not getting so overwhelmed and irritable with the things that usually would cause me to feel that way before CBD.

 

 When did you feel you reached your best results with your routine? (e.g. 3 months, 6 months, etc.) 

I want to say it took me at least 3 months to start to feel like I was feeling better each day.

 

 Was the difference you observed due to a routine adjustment or timing of how long you have been on your routine?

Combination of both, it took a few routine adjustments and then it was really just giving it more time to compound within my body to feel that sense of calm more. After I make an adjustment to my routine, giving my body time to acclimate and tracking my progress in a journal is how I can tell my dose is working for me!

 

Camille’s CBD Journey:

 

What was the primary indicator that helped you realize your CBD was working? 

I noticed it was working when I was anticipating myself getting stressed over things that I would normally get stressed about but instead felt totally fine and clear-headed. I wasn’t fixating on the little things and had a greater sense of wellbeing – as if I had just walked out of a restorative yoga class. 

 

 When did you feel you reached your best results with your routine? (e.g. 3 months, 6 months, etc.) 

2-3 months

 

 Was the difference you observed due to a routine adjustment or timing of how long you have been on your routine?

A bit of both. Consistency is so important. I gravitated towards the Daily Drops for the fast-acting benefits which worked well for a little while but when I gave the Daily Softgels a try, I noticed a greater improvement in my resilience to stress. I enjoy the subtlety of the softgels and taking them daily forces me to be more mindful of incorporating healthy fats into my diet.
