10 Minute Skin-Boosting CBD Facial

Winter brings with it plenty of opportunity for some of our favorite cold-weather activities, whether you enjoy skiing, sledding, or simply lounging by a roaring fire. However, dropping temperatures and a lack of humidity in the air can also really take their toll on your skin. This often leads to dry, flaky skin and patches of redness and irritation. Counteract the effects of winter weather on your skin with a 10-minute CBD facial featuring our premium CBD oil, and restore moisture and balance to your winter-stressed skin.

10 Minute Skin-Boosting CBD Facial

 1. Start with a moisturizing cleanser

The cleanser you choose is an important first step in combating dehydrated, flaky skin. The cleanser you use in the summer may strip away too much of your skin’s natural oils, leaving your face feeling tight or even itchy. Instead of a harsh cleanser, choose an oil-based or cream cleanser to prevent over-drying and to help restore moisture even as you cleanse.

2. Gently exfoliate

Because skin can get dry and flaky in arid winter air, removing dead skin cells is necessary for achieving maximum hydration. Exfoliation helps prepare the skin to receive moisture, but be careful about what you use to exfoliate. Physical scrubs can irritate stressed skin and cause damage and redness, so reach instead for a liquid exfoliant that uses alpha or beta hydroxy acids to gently remove dead skin cells.

3. Help hydrate with steam

Steam is an important step in helping to restore moisture to skin. Steam has many benefits for dry, stressed skin, including helping to jump-start oil production and increasing skin’s permeability, making it more effectively absorb topical treatments and serums. If you don’t have an at-home facial steamer, you can easily improvise with a bowl of steaming water. Lean over the bowl and drape a towel over your head and the bowl to keep steam from escaping.

4. Draw moisture in with a mask

After steaming, when your skin is primed to receive and absorb moisturizing ingredients, choose a hydrating mask containing hyaluronic acid, which helps to attract and retain moisture in the skin. Moisturizing sheet masks are a convenient way to deliver hydrating ingredients; make sure to choose one made for your skin type and concerns. Even oily skin needs hydration in order to regulate sebum production, so make sure you’re giving your skin what it needs to combat dry winter air.

5. Nourish with premium CBD

After rinsing off any remaining mask residue, lock in hydration with our Daily Treatment Oil. 6. Finish your CBD facial with your favorite moisturizer

For an added boost of moisture, complete your CBD facial with your favorite facial moisturizer. In the wintertime, oil-based cream formulations tend to deliver more hydration than water-based lotions, so look for a cream with hydrating ingredients to give your skin a final layer of moisture and protection.

In addition to your 10-minute CBD facial, keep your skin nourished and protected all winter long by making sure you’re also staying hydrated by drinking plenty of water, using a humidifier to defend against the dry air that home heating can create, and always wearing sunscreen to protect your skin from further damage. And your face isn’t the only thing that can benefit from premium CBD oil; our Nourishing Body Oil provides long-lasting moisture and relief for dry, itchy winter skin. Let Equilibria’s premium CBD for women keep your skin glowing and renewed from head to toe all winter long.
