CBD Oil Microdosing: The Benefits & How It Works

Take a slow, deep, conscious breath. Reserving a little mindful moment for breathing can go a long way. Likewise, a little bit of CBD can go a long way. Many cannabis experts suggest that CBD oil microdosing is a great way to experience the benefits of the wondrous hemp plant. At Equilibria, we take the approach that less is more with CBD and always recommend our members start low and slow when introducing CBD into their self-care regimen.

CBD Oil Microdosing: What it is and the potential advantages of this dosing strategy

What Is CBD Oil Microdosing?

CBD Oil Microdosing: The Benefits & How It WorksMicrodosing is a concept that has been commonly associated with dosing psychoactive substances, however, it can also be applied when dosing full-spectrum CBD oil. It’s a general term meaning “small doses” and defined as ingesting tiny amounts of a substance to elicit therapeutic effects. Clinical studies surrounding full-spectrum CBD and micro doses are insufficient to make definitive claims about this. However, some physicians with cannabis backgrounds propose that the human body can more effectively respond to lower doses when using a hemp extract containing the full range of the plant’s compounds.

Keep in mind what is considered a small dose changes from person to person since everyone is different. A low dose for one person may be 2.5mg of CBD, while a low dose for their friend may be 10mg of CBD. Members with more complex wellness issues might discover they need a little higher dosage than the average member.

What Are The Benefits?

  • To find your “sweet spot” dose. What’s going to work for you is not the same as your sister or mother. Your ideal dose is the least amount of CBD possible that gives you positive effects. Finding this fit is a process of patience, experimenting, and listening to your body.
  • Because more CBD isn’t always better. CBD can have a biphasic response, meaning each person has their own optimum dosage and taking too much could possibly result in the opposite of the desired effects.
  • For longer-lasting effects. Taking lesser amounts and more frequent doses may lead to more sustained balance in the body, as opposed to taking a larger dose at one time, which could possibly wear off more quickly.
  • The Entourage Effect. Using a superior, full-spectrum, flower-derived CBD packed with various terpenes and minor cannabinoids can yield more therapeutic benefits than CBD isolate or broad-spectrum CBD. This is because all of these compounds act synergistically, which in turn may allow you to find better results with smaller doses.

CBD Oil Microdosing with Equilibria Products

CBD Oil Microdosing: The Benefits & How It WorksWe believe the best way to microdose with Equilibria CBD is to go low and slow. We want this to be a comfortable experience for you, so we recommend starting off with small doses and gradually increase your doses over time if you’re not seeing any differences. For example, try taking a ½ dropper (5mg/0.5mL) Daily Drops dose alongside your coffee every morning for a week. If you feel like it’s not enough, the following week, try increasing your morning dose by ½ dropper dose to 1 full dropper (10mg/1mL) and observe the differences.

Our Daily Drops are usually more suitable for microdosing because the doses are more precise and easily adjustable than our Daily Softgels. Microdosing with our Daily Softgels can be more difficult because they are encapsulated and the effects can vary based on food consumption and metabolism.

5 Tips for Microdosing with EQ CBD Oil

  • Go low and slow. Start with low doses. Slowly increase by small increments like a ¼ dropper (2.5mg/0.25mL) or a ½ dropper (5mg/0.5mL) only if you feel like you need more. We’re trying to find the smallest dose that offers positive effects.
  • Journal. Before you start your CBD routine, take notes on how you’re feeling to get a baseline of your natural state. As you begin your daily routine, jot down quick notes in a notebook or in your phone before and after each dose. Track how you’re feeling, how much you ingested, and the time of day you took your doses to help you determine your appropriate dosage and monitor for changes.
  • Check in with yourself and your support system. Your CBD journey is about self-awareness and reflecting on any subtle differences in your emotional, mental, and physical health. If you’re unsure, ask your family and friends if they’ve noticed any differences. Sometimes, they can see changes before you, which can help you better evaluate your progress. It’s about progress, not perfection.
  • Hydrate. Drinking plenty of water is important to help your body properly function and transport substances throughout the body.
  • Practice more self-care activities. Work out, eat healthy foods, meditate, take a warm bath, or read a pleasurable book. Remember to carve out time to take care of yourself. Our members find their best results when using our products in combination with a healthy lifestyle.
