Does CBD Oil Have THC? Here’s What You Should Know

Here at Equilibria, we have an obsession with quality. Our unique formula has been carefully crafted to optimize the cannabis profile based on extensive bioscience research. All of Equilibria’s products contain “full-spectrum CBD” which means they also contain 0.3% or less THC. You may be wondering “why does CBD oil have THC?”. Here we’ll break down why.

Why Does CBD Oil Have THC In It?

Let’s talk about full-spectrum CBD

Full-spectrum CBD means that our products include the full spectrum of compounds from a high-CBD hemp plant. This includes whatever small amount of THC was in the original plant. One of the main advantages of including trace amounts of THC is the concept of ‘Entourage Effect’ which indicates that CBD may be more efficacious when combined with other cannabinoids, like THC specifically.

CBD and THC are not the only important parts of the hemp plant. There are also terpenes (the essential oils of the hemp plant) which have their own beneficial properties! Equilibria’s CBD products contain 3-5x more terpenes than most products available on the market and in dispensaries. Our full-spectrum CBD includes a robust cannabinoid profile beyond just CBD. Here, you can see our lab results (COA’s).

While CBD and THC are two of the more well-known cannabinoids, full-spectrum refers to the wide array of therapeutic compounds found within the hemp plant. Since CBD is the non-psychotropic part of the hemp plant, it can’t get you high. Full-spectrum CBD is for daily use and may support your wellness and daily routine. It is designed for on-the-go support that can be integrated into your lifestyle safely and effectively!

When you have a product that has high quality CBD + THC + a robust terpene profile, this formula is considered full-spectrum and allows us to experience the full effect that CBD has to offer. This can provide more amplified and consistent results!

What about CBD isolate or THC-free products?

You may see companies advertising other types of formulas with labels like “pure CBD isolate” or “THC-free”.  While these labels may sound like a good thing, the ultimate benefit of full-spectrum CBD elicits the ‘Entourage Effect’. This can enhance your CBD results beyond use of CBD alone. As mentioned,  CBD labeled as “full-spectrum” means it contains the full spectrum of beneficial compounds available from the hemp plant, encompassing cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids, and more! Here at Equilibria, we carefully extract the oil from our hand-harvested hemp flower by utilizing C02 Extraction. This method allows us to keep all the “good stuff” from the plant. Honoring the cannabis plant in our practices allows us to preserve the natural benefits of full-spectrum CBD, which in turn provides a pure, potent, synergistic product.

When products are labeled as “Broad Spectrum”, or “THC-free”, this means that THC is stripped out of the formula. When this process takes place, many beneficial parts of the plant are often stripped away as well. This often results in a THC-free formula where consumers need to take larger amounts in order to see an effect.

Why is THC in the formula?

In 2018, the FDA passed the Hemp Production Farm Bill, which allows for CBD products to be sold online and in stores, as long as the products contain less than 0.3% THC. When Equilibria was in its early stages, our founders knew they wanted to create the highest quality full-spectrum CBD because this formulation of CBD offers the best therapeutic results.

The beauty of our full-spectrum CBD is that most of our members are able to take small daily doses and see their desired results!

THC 101

There are some folks who need to think carefully about taking a full-spectrum CBD product. Some employers are strict on their company policy for THC and do random drug testing. It’s important to check with your employer and see if they have a stance on CBD products. While CBD is federally legal, THC is still federally illegal. Even though our products contain a legal amount of THC (under 0.3% THC) it could still be possible to flag on a drug test. Drug testing is kind of a gray area when it comes to CBD because we can’t say for sure how your body will respond.

While it’s uncommon for Equilibria members to test positive on a drug test, it is not impossible. This is because all of our products contain trace amounts of THC. If you’re worried, we recommend checking for yourself with an at-home THC test kit. You can order these online or purchase them at your local pharmacy for about $5. This is a good way to test for yourself and have peace of mind if you’ve been taking CBD for awhile.
