Have you ever wondered what CBD routines the experts use to get a good night’s sleep? Over the past 2 years, the EQ Dosage Team has been working hard to improve the quality of rest for so many of our members, and now, we would love to share our experience with you!
Of course, everyone’s body is incredibly unique and our needs are just as individualized, so if any of these routines sound inspiring… we encourage you to experiment! When it comes to CBD, a personalized approach is the only approach. Try what feels right for you and stick with it. CBD compounds in the body and works best over time. It’s entirely possible that your routine will work differently the first week, compared to the fourth week and beyond! Journaling to track your progress is always highly recommended.

End of Workday: ½ dropper Daily Drops (5mg/0.5mL)
30min Before Bed: ½ – 1 full dropper Daily Drops (5mg/0.5mL – 10mg/1mL)
I love to stagger my Daily Drops (300mg Regular Strength); my transition from daytime work to nighttime momager can be rough, so I find using the “trail of breadcrumbs” to bed approach the best!
I take ½ a dropper before I close up my laptop and turn around to start my evening as a short-order cook. This gives me a little longer leash when I might not have the sunniest disposition… and I find I am a nicer, more present mom and partner, enjoying my time in the kitchen with my family.
30 minutes before bedtime, I take another 1/2- 1 full dropper (depending on how crazy my day has been!) and find I am able to turn off intrusive thoughts and enjoy a restful night!
Dinnertime: 10mg Softgel
Because the Softgels take around 1-2 before they kick in, I take them with dinner so they can slowly release for 6-8 hours while I sleep. Then, I take a full dropper of Daily Drops right before bed to help me fall asleep faster.
The Relief Cream is great for my neck and shoulders to help with tension headaches. Sometimes I’ll use it even earlier, like right after work and then again before bed. I use as much, or as little as I want to in a day. Relief Cream doesn’t count toward your dosage!
30min Before Bed: 1500mg Daily Drops – ¼ dropper (12.5mg/0.25mL)
In terms of my nighttime routine, I’ve been slowly increasing my dose. At the moment, I’m still working with a 1/4 dropper of the Extra Strength (1500mg Dropper), which is a 12.5mg dose. This is a really efficient way to take a larger dose. For reference, it takes 1 full mL dropper of the Regular Strength 300mg Drops to get a 10mg dose. If you’re thinking about trying the 1500mg Dropper, start low and slow, and update your Dosage Specialist!
Another technique that definitely helps with my bedtime routine is applying the Calming Roller on my wrists and Relief Cream on my temples. This aromatherapy can really soothe me into a bedtime mindset.
After my wisdom teeth surgery last week, I started using the Relief Cream before bed and it’s helped so much that I’m going to keep it in my bedtime routine! The Relief Cream releases that pressure in my head and feels really comforting at the end of my day.
At Bedtime: 25mg Softgel with yogurt
I start my routine 30 minutes before bedtime by taking a 1/4 dropper of the Extra Strength drops and then I apply Relief Cream to my knees, hands, temples, and jawline before bed. This also works well for my achy joints and tension headaches!
Additionally, I take a 25mg Softgel at bedtime after having a snack with healthy fat (like yogurt). CBD is fat-soluble, so taking it with a healthy fat can help your dosage absorb better and work more efficiently in the body.
Also, instead of taking a Softgel earlier at dinnertime, I’ll take it right before bedtime because I have a fast metabolism! If I take my dose earlier at dinnertime, the Softgel wears off way too early… before my alarm clock and I find myself awake, tossing and turning. Timing is important!
2 Hours Before Bed: 10mg Softgel
I love to use a bath bomb or mineral soak at the end of the day! This helps to relieve the tension I feel in my back, legs, and shoulders after sitting at a desk for hours. When I want to really soak in the tub for a long time, 15 minutes or more, I choose a Balancing Bath Bomb, especially if I’m feeling a bit wound up at the end of the day. Bath bombs have an incredible aromatic effect and can really relax me if I’m feeling emotionally drained. I love both scents, but for bedtime, the Cardamom Rose is my favorite.
If I’m looking to take a quick bath to relieve achiness, or if I feel I need a bit of a detox, I choose the Mindful Mineral Soak. The soak is salt-based, so it not only hydrates and nourishes my skin, but it also helps improve my circulation. Also, I always drink a glass of water before and after my bath.
I also take my 10mg Softgel 2 hours before bed with a snack that includes a healthy fat like trail mix, dark chocolate almonds, greek yogurt, or peanut butter. This helps me achieve the maximum absorbency from the Softgel and I feel well-rested when I wake up!
